The Seafood Shack wins PEI Burger Love 2024; $90,679 raised for Anderson House
May 8, 2024, Charlottetown, PE – “The Shack Attack” burger creation by The Seafood Shack in Morell wins title of “Most Loved Burger” by public voting for PEI Burger Love 2024, with the overall campaign raising $90,679 for Anderson House.
Out of 88 burgers created by 90 restaurant locations, The Seafood Shack has proved victorious in the 13th year of Burger Love. For the past 12 years the successful, month-long foodie campaign was run by Fresh Media, with 2024 being the first year Anderson House took over the campaign as an exclusive fundraiser for their organization.
Participating restaurants were not required to pay a registration fee this year, and instead would donate $1 for each burger sold to Anderson House. A whopping 90,679 burgers were sold overall.
With a hefty donation of $90,679, Anderson House will be able to continue and expand its many community supports, including emergency shelter and outreach and support services for Islanders and children who are in need of safety because of violence in their lives.
The Seafood Shack sold close to 1800 burgers, and owner, Danielle Casario, was absolutely thrilled to hear that they won. With a staff of only three, and being a fairly new restaurant with only five seasons under their belt, Danielle says the public support has been phenomenal and sincerely thanks everyone who took the time to vote.
The Most-Loved Burger, The Shack Attack, has a winning line up of ingredients: Two 3oz Island Beef Smash Patties, Bold Island Whisky Cheddar, Creamy Havarti, Crisp Candied Pork Belly, House-Made Salt & Pepper Micro Frites, Garlic Aioli, Tangy Sweet & Sour BBQ Sauce, Fresh Green Leaf Lettuce and Tangy Pickled Red Onion served on a Toasted Brioche Bun garnished with The Seafood Shack’s Signature Lobster Wonton.
A satisfying end to a delicious campaign.
