We invite you to join the 2018/19 Annual Financial Campaign for PEI Family Violence Prevention Services. This year’s campaign focuses on housing – the foundation for a safe, healthy and bright future.
Prince Edward Island is in the midst of a housing crisis. The lack of safe, affordable housing is felt most by those leaving abuse. Few people understand the strain someone feels when they want to leave an abusive relationship and find there is nowhere for them to go. PEI Family Violence Prevention Services provides emergency shelter (Anderson House), transitional housing (apartments with residency for up to one year), and permanent housing (apartments with no cap on length of stay). Walking alongside a woman as she searches for safe, affordable housing is an essential piece of our daily work. Securing a home is the first step for a new beginning.
Over the past year PEI FVPS has served 351 women and 379 children.
