PEI Burger Love to Return April 2024
BACK ON THE GRILL: PEI BURGER LOVE TO RETURN APRIL 2024 AS AN EXCLUSIVE FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR ANDERSON HOUSE
November 8, 2023, Charlottetown, PE – After announcing in February that the popular PEI Burger Love event had been put on hiatus, Fresh Media – the company behind PEI Burger Love, and the creative team that launched and managed the campaign over the past twelve years – is excited to share that PEI’s favourite foodie event will return in April 2024 as an exclusive fundraising event for Anderson House.
PEI Burger Love will stay a month-long celebration of local burgers with Anderson House now taking the lead, presenting the April 2024 event as a charitable fundraiser that will help to support their many community efforts across the Island. Restaurants will not be required to pay registration fees to participate this upcoming year; participating restaurants just need to donate $1 for each of their burgers sold to Anderson House as their commitment with PEI Burger Love.
Anderson House is a provincial emergency shelter offering emergency supports and services for women, trans and non-binary individuals and their children from all areas of Prince Edward Island who are in need of safety because of violence in their lives. They have been the recipient of the Give Back Burger initiative through PEI Burger Love since 2019.
“Give Back Burgers have helped our organization offer new and innovative programming. These funds make a real difference,” says Danya O’Malley-Executive Director PEI Family Violence Prevention Services who operates Anderson House. “We are delighted to take over the campaign and look forward to another great year.”
PEI Burger Love has become an iconic spring celebration across Prince Edward Island for twelve years with over 1.2 million burgers sold equaling over $17 million in sales. Many sectors have been positively impacted by the campaign, including not-for-profit with the Give Back Burger initiative. With that in mind, Fresh Media and Anderson House both wish to see this legacy event continue to benefit all those involved. It’s the most delicious way to support local AND do something good at the same time.
“We’re so proud of the positive impact PEI Burger Love has had since 2010, and look forward to this event continuing to benefit for our Island,” says Melody Dover, Founder of Fresh Media and PEI Burger Love. “Anderson House is the ideal organization to carry it forward as a fundraiser.”
