PEI Burger Love launches April 1st, with the exciting return of all-beef burger entries.
Anderson House is thrilled to be running the campaign as an exclusive fundraiser for their organization for the second year in a row, and also to be partnering with Atlantic Beef Products (ABP) to bring the campaign back to its beef-only origins. ABP is excited about this initiative as well, and they encourage Islanders to get out and support their local beef producers.
“We are very pleased that PEI Burger Love has returned to its roots of featuring high quality beef made right here in PEI. We are also so pleased by the additional support received from our friends at Canada Beef. Pick the Beef with the Leaf!” – Russ Mallard, Atlantic Beef Products
PEI Burger Love is also made possible through support from the Government of PEI. PEI’s Deputy Premier, Minister of Agriculture and Justice and Public Safety Bloyce Thompson shares his support for the campaign:
“The PEI Burger Love campaign is a fun and easy way to get out to support our local restaurants and enjoy our top quality food that we offer on this Island. With every burger being made from PEI beef, and a portion of each sale going back to Anderson House, the campaign really showcases our sense of community that we all have as Islanders.”
Last year, the campaign raised more than $91,000 for Anderson House, and served as a fantastic fundraiser for the organization. Anderson House is a provincial emergency shelter for women, trans, and non-binary individuals, and their children, who are in need of safety because of violence in their lives. Danya O’Malley, Executive Director of Anderson House, is grateful for the opportunity to run the campaign, and acknowledges the positive impact it provides.
“We are so happy to present PEI Burger Love again this year. Each year we rely on community support to continue delivering quality services in communities Island-wide. Through emergency shelter and outreach, we serve over 500 families each year. The campaign is a very important revenue stream for us, but one of the biggest benefits is how this raises awareness about our organization and the ways we can help.”
Supporting local is supporting community, and PEI Burger Love is back again this April to do just that. For more information and to see this year’s 88 entries, visit www.peiburgerlove.ca.
