From the rich history of our 125-year-old building, to the thousands of clients we’ve served over the last 44 years, we’re proud to provide a safe space for healing.
Please help us reach our goal of $100,000 during this season’s Annual Financial Campaign.
The higher cost of living has impacted us all. The lack of affordable housing and the rising cost of fuel, utilities, groceries, and other basic needs has been a constant, pressing issue for our clients. For someone trying to leave an abusive relationship, these struggles are amplified, slowing the path to healing and independence. It’s also challenging for us, as more of our funding goes to maintain basic shelter operation. Anderson House is grateful for the private and public support we receive. Each year we need to fundraise 30% of our operating budget. Our annual financial campaign contributes to this greatly.
We appreciate your donations and support. We couldn’t do it without you.
“Your kindness, understanding, and professional guidance during such a difficult time have meant more to me than I can fully express. Thank you again for being there when I needed it most. Your support has made a lasting impact, and I’m grateful for everything you’ve done.” – Anderson House Client

To our supporters:
We’re happy to let you know that our organization is still going strong after another year. The role we play in creating safer, happier families is an important service. We always enjoy this opportunity to keep you up to date on our valuable work.
This year we’re choosing to profile Anderson House. The shelter has been operating for almost 44 years, but the house itself will turn 125 this year! Many residents are surprised that our shelter feels like a home. We do this with intention. If people feel safe and comfortable, they have a better chance of thriving.
Being in such an old home has challenges, but the charming touches are so special. We underwent a major renovation in 2010, but we were sure to maintain the floors and woodwork. The non-working fireplaces throughout the house are especially beautiful.
We have steadily added to our team in the past two years, meaning that we now offer all of our services Island-wide. With our men’s services, and now the addition of services to children and youth, we have achieved our goal of having support for all members of the family. Violence impacts all family members uniquely, and everyone should receive quality services to help them on their path.
This work is only possible with community support like yours. Please support our annual financial campaign. All funds raised go directly to valuable programming to end violence.
Thank you and Happy Holidays,
Danya O’Malley
Executive Director
